a few rainy day essentials in this outfit: black skinny pants for tucking into wellies (these particular ones have "equestrian" style patches on the inner leg, but i have tons of black skinnies in all different forms and materials), a scarf to protect my hair when the rain falls too lightly for an umbrella, and my patent leather bowler bag which has a slick surface so the rain rolls right off. there's a closeup of the bag here.

oversized shirt by "SHIRT" (from Intermix); Tt equestrian style pants (from Tokio7 consignment store); Balenciaga blazer (from eBay); street vendor sparkly scarf; Marc by Marc Jacobs patent leather bowler bag (old, from Barneys Co-op); Elizabeth & James knuckle ring (from Intermix)
a knee-length sweater is great for the rain in case you want to wear a cute dress. this length sweater will guard against those stains that you get when you kick up water and splash yourself as you walk.

DSquared trench dress (from Century21); D&G lace leggings (from Century21); Vince hooded sweater; Marc Bernstein triple wrap bracelet (from Young Designers Market on Mulberry St.)
boyfriend blazers and wellies make a great combination and a baseball cap is great for shielding your face (and mascara!) from light rain.

Calvin Klein Collection blazer (from Housing Works Thrift Shop, the Columbus Ave. location); YSL tee (from YSL boutique on 57th St.); AG boyfriend shorts (from shopbop or revolve i think? i forgot); Ralph Lauren belt from TJMaxx

love all these outfits especially the top one!
I love that second outfit! The trench coat is a typical rain outfit, but the trench in dress form and a sweater over it, along with lace leggings, really makes it a unique look. Very cool.
thank you so so much! all of the outfits look fantastic, i especially love the last one! thank you very much for responding to my request :)
hmmm... do you guys think i should hem the dress a little? i didn't notice it when i wore it, but now after looking at the picture i'm thinking i should hem it about an inch, an inch and a half?
I think the current length looks great with the boots, but if it is something you want to wear with sandals in the summer, a shorter length would probably work better. Maybe pin it up and take a look?
I don't envy you; London seems to be having some brief respite from the rain but I doubt it'll last long.
I love the trench dress but I agree it would look even better, and show off your lace leggings better, an inch shorter.
PS don't you always think that 2 volume editions of books like War & Piece would be great for increased transportability?
this is kinda how I look these days...rainboots after rainboots. I like the hunter green, classic!
yeah I don't like the seating out there at all! Doesn't really scream performing arts to me...
I wonder what the apartment prices are like down there too... generally everything has gone down so much this past year with the recession and everything but, who knows? A lot of the restaurants in the meatpacking seem to be closing their doors too. sigh. rough times!
Love the last outfit - shorts and gumboots - gorgeous!
Love all the outfits you paired with your boots!
Hanh,
love the first outfit! the scarf is too cute!
